Our Christmas Window display was inspired by the alpine and ski chalet scene. This theme is always trending, as it evokes so many feelings, such as fun and any holiday vibes.
The backdrop fabric is a lovely winter ski scene created and designed by one of our suppliers, Pierre Frey. This piece of printed fabric was inspired by magazines from the sixties, relaying the joys of winter sports, this print has a feeling of yearning for fun and good times in the snow.
The yellow chair fabric is Mohair which has been supplied by the company, Pierre Frey. It is made out of a type of goat hair called Angora, and the quality can be defined by the age of the goat. For example, the older the goat, the coarser the fibre. This means that it is very hard wearing and so ideal for floor rugs. This particular piece of fabric is a combination of cotton and mohair. The fabric has occasionally been referred to as the ‘Teddy Bear’ fabric. It has a lovely soft and fluffy texture and it comes in a vast array of colour ways. It is suitable for a number of different pieces of furniture that can be upholstered. For example, chairs and sofas!
Each cushion fabric, situated on the chair has been supplied by the company Ralph Lauren. The black and white tartan cushion backing and the green and blue tartan cushion backing, is a black ribbed corduroy fabric. The tartan aspect evokes a cosy and homely feel. This collection of fabrics would be perfect for curtains, blinds and upholstery.
The top cushion is a traditional but beautiful tartan. The classic red and green combination is timeless. It portrays that homely feel and has that real warmth which can be used in any interior scheme.
The middle cushion is again a traditional plaid tartan. The black and white with the red and gold colours creates a lovely mix.
The bottom cushion fabric is another traditional wool tartan, woven in the classic blue and green check with a single yellow and red stripe. Like the other cushion fabrics, it is very hardwearing!
